If you’ve ever been to a South African festival, party, or event where the music has the building shaking and the energy is off the charts, chances are Audiomarc is behind the decks. Born and raised in the heart of Durban, this DJ and producer is a fixture in the South African music scene, showing up at almost every major event, and constantly making waves in the industry. His journey from humble beginnings to industry powerhouse is a story of passion, growth, and the undeniable influence of the streets around him.

From Durban Streets to Global Stages

Growing up in Durban, Audiomarc was always surrounded by music. His father, a key influence in his life, played a huge role in shaping his love for sound. It wasn’t long before the young artist found himself deeply immersed in the rhythms of the streets. Durban’s unique taxi culture, known for blasting Gqom and house music at high volumes, had a profound impact on Audiomarc. Even though these genres weren’t always his go-to, he found himself drawn to the raw energy and emotion they evoked. There was something about the way the beats connected with the people around him that inspired a deep love for music.

It wasn’t just the bass-heavy tracks that caught his attention—it was the way music made people feel. The pulse of Gqom was infectious, and Audiomarc felt a calling. The streets were alive with sound, and he wanted to be the next one creating it.

The Birth of a DJ

Audiomarc’s introduction to Hip Hop marked a turning point in his musical journey. The genre quickly became the anchor that solidified his desire to become a DJ. Hip Hop’s creative freedom resonated with Audiomarc, and soon, he was crafting beats and collaborating with close friends like Nasty C, who shared his passion and raw lyrical flow. Though he was initially hesitant to share his work with the world, Audiomarc knew this was his path. He wasn’t just making music—he was telling stories through sound.

Despite his quiet persona, Audiomarc’s talent couldn’t be ignored for long. With the support of his peers in the industry and his own growing hunger to be heard, he released his debut single, “Catch It,” in 2018, collaborating with the likes of Nasty C and Tellaman. The track made waves, introducing the world to Audiomarc’s unique sound—a blend of Hip Hop and infectious beats that would go on to define his career.

The Rise of a Star

But Audiomarc wasn’t stopping there. In 2020, he dropped “Audio Czzle,” a club banger that further solidified his place in the Hip Hop scene. This time, he teamed up with Nasty C again, and the track was a hit, cementing Audiomarc as one of the producers to watch. His music was no longer just about beats; it was about creating moments, crafting anthems that made people move.

Then came “Why Me?” in October 2021. This track, featuring the titans of South African Hip Hop—Nasty C and Blxckie—was an undeniable banger. With its catchy hook and infectious energy, the song became a fan favorite and marked a new chapter in Audiomarc’s journey.

The Gqom Infusion: A New Chapter

But here’s where things get really exciting: Audiomarc has recently again founded his old love. The DJ and producer has become captivated by Gqom, and it’s changing the way he makes music. If you’ve heard his latest tracks, you’ll notice the influence—there’s something about the rhythm and energy of Gqom that’s sparking new creativity for Audiomarc. The genre, which originated from the streets of Durban, is now playing a central role in his sound. The powerful drums, hypnotic basslines, and raw emotion are in full force, and Audiomarc is feeling it more than ever.

This newfound passion is already influencing his collaborations. "Ushukela" by Qwellers, is a testament to this evolution. The track fuses Gqom with fresh energy and flavor, showing Audiomarc’s ability to stay relevant while continuously evolving his sound.

And let’s not forget the monster hit “For Certain” with South African rap legend Nasty C, which has been making serious waves. This track is pure fire, and Audiomarc’s production is the perfect backdrop for Nasty C’s sharp flow.

What’s Next for Audiomarc?

Audiomarc isn’t slowing down, you can find him rocking the stage at the 2025 IVYSON TOUR on the 29th of March, and as the sounds of Gqom continue to inspire him, it’s clear that Audiomarc is ready to push boundaries, experiment with new styles, and keep evolving his craft.

Whether you’re catching him at the 2025 IVYSON TOUR, hearing his latest collaboration on the radio, or vibing to his beats in the club, one thing is certain: Audiomarc’s journey is far from over, and we’re all just along for the ride. If you don’t know who Audiomarc is yet… trust us, YOU WILL!
