San Tropez is back, and they're playing with time again. Their latest single, Baby Bells, is like opening a photo album you forgot you had—soft-focus, sun-bleached, and full of moments you’re not quite sure happened or if you just dreamed them.

After their 2023 debut Maybe Tomorrow turned heads with its warm textures and dreamy layers, the band’s been quietly crafting the next chapter. That chapter? A full-length cinematic trip called Museum of Modern History, due later this year via Mint 400 Records. And Baby Bells is the siren song leading us in.

This track doesn’t shout; it shimmers. With hushed synths, silky vocals, and reverb that feels like it’s wrapping you in velvet, Baby Bells floats somewhere between past and present. It’s a song that breathes slow, stretches wide, and somehow makes you feel like you're riding in the backseat of a car with nowhere to be and all the time in the world to get there.

San Tropez has clearly been refining their sound, and you can hear it. There’s more depth now, more confidence in letting the song be. The upcoming album was recorded at Lakehouse Studios in Asbury Park, and if this single is any hint, the project is going to be equal parts expansive and intimate. Add in collaborations with indie legends like Marissa Paternoster, sax from Zack Sandler, and dreamy vocals from Victoria Benesch, and you’ve got a recipe for something special.

Baby Bells isn’t just a song—it’s a mood. It’s rock with the softness of a memory, alternative with a pulse that never rushes. Fans of Slowdive, Beach House, or even the echo-laden worlds of My Bloody Valentine will feel right at home here.

San Tropez isn't trying to reinvent dream pop—they're just making it feel new again. And somehow, they’ve managed to make nostalgia sound like it has a future.
